Vision Statement:
To move Godward, by Spirit led worship and the enforcement of the Word of God in the earth through prayer and preaching. To raise up a generation of apostles, prophets, and evangelists. To prepare this generation for the work of their ministry. We want to see a mighty move of God in these children and teach them how to get into the presence of God wherever they are. We want to see the fire of God fall on these children and draw them into deeper relationship with him.

Megan Heimann
My journey at The River began as a little girl in Sunday School. But my faith journey began years later, in 2009, when I was a freshman in high school. I walked back into those same doors after a childhood away from church and felt the love of God so strong. With what felt like a lot of time to make up for, I quickly delved into my walk with God and into serving my church community. A few years later, in my early 20s and with my pastor’s blessing, I headed off to Virginia to attend Blue Ridge Bible College. I learned so much there but mainly that I’ll never stop learning. After coming home and continuing to serve in Kids Ministry, I met my husband, Dustin, and we got married in 2021. Yes, I dragged him into teaching and he turned out to be great at it! The kids love his teaching style. I became the RiverKids Pastor in August of 2022, and it’s been a joy to love and serve not only the amazing kids of our congregation, but also the incredible volunteers who make this ministry what it is. It didn’t take us long to help grow the ministry by welcoming our own baby girl to the world in August of 2023. God has certainly blessed me, my family, and our ministry at The River. It’s not just our church, but also our home.
