Young Adult Ministry

Let the next step on your faith journey be the Young Adult Ministry at The River! Haven't been to church in a while? Looking for a new church home? Looking for a vibrant, non-judgmental place to explore what kind of person the Spirit is calling you to be? At The River, we are dedicated to creating a spiritually vibrant environment for young adults attending college and graduate school, young adults who are beginning their professions, those who are looking, and those who are thrving. All young adults, aged eighteen to thirty, are welcome as we encounter, explore, and enjoy the diversity of faith in the world.

The River Young Adult Ministry likes to engage in fellowship that is open to all college and young adults who are journeying along the Christian path. In a world full of stress and anxiety, this fellowship is an excellent way to meet diverse young adults, break from a demanding schedule, and become empowered and challenged for the journey ahead. Please consider joining us as we share God's grace, love, peace and justice.

Young Adults Ministry Leaders: Matt and Terrie Dilger
mattandterrie Matt and Terrie Dilger have attended The River for 8 years and have 2 children, Rachel and Josh. Matt is a very talented trumpet player and plays for the praise and worship team at The River. They have always had a heart for worship and they would often encounter Pastors Paul and Paula Bishop at worship events and conferences. Matt had also played his trumpet with them on many occasions. They felt an immediate bond with them. They also wanted their children to be in a church that welcomed the Holy Spirit to move, direct and inhabit the services. They had taken a year, after leaving their previous church, to pursue the Holy Spirit

and visit many churches throughout Central Ohio. This was a time when their son and daughter saw God direct their paths on a weekly basis. God would confirm the church they were to attend that day and then they would hear a continuation of the message that they had heard the week prior, at a totally different place of worship! It was an exciting time! It showed them the entire Body of Christ at work, not just the individual churches. We they felt that God wanted them to establish themselves into a body again, He brought them to The River. They felt as though they had come home.

Matt and Terrie continue to be blessed through their ministry. The Bishops encouraged them to continue in leadership roles that they had been a part of in their previous church. Matt was welcomed into worship ministry as well as teaching and eldership. Pastors Paul and Paula also encouraged and supported Terrie in becoming an active leader and teacher, which had not always been the case in other churches. They have watched their children grow strong in the Lord and discover their minstries and callings.

Matt and Terrie believe that The River is a body of believers who are growing in wisdom, discernment, compassion and holiness. They both have faith that we will all discover that He loves us unconditionally and yet He wants to see us change and grow in him.
